Using a simple transmission line model, the possible frequency range of improved Wheeler method is examined. The cause and countermeasure are discussed about the dips of the efficiency in the measurement. If the resonance is to occur in the cavity built by the wageguide and the sliding short-circuited ends (SS), the dips of the efficiency is observed and avoiding it is proposed. Furthermore, it succeeded in extending the frequency range that efficiency could be measured by improving the choke geometry set up in SS. The about same results can be obtained in comparison with the results by the conventional Wheeler method if the dips of the efficiency is removed.
