Advances in multicentre ethics review.

摘要

The recent article by Christie et al. provides a strong statement inviting us to review the philosophy and organization of the ethics approval process and acknowledge the negative public health consequences of multiple ethics review for multicentre trials. The ethical review process sparks off, in many cases, a smouldering feeling of discontent and desire for change. And, there is little doubt that those who wish to criticize the system find plentiful grounds on which to do so. But the picture the authors present of current practice in Australia, although not entirely false, is not complete. The moment is one of fluidity.
