A Reply:Hyperpycnal Discharge of Fluvial Sediment to the Ocean: Impact of Super-Typhoon Herb (1996) on Taiwanese Rivers

We thank Ho-Shing Yu (2006) for his discussion of the canyon and channel systems in the southern Taiwan Strait,particularly in pointing out the separation between the Kaoping and Penghu canyons.Our misidentification (Milliman and Kao 2005),however,does not detract from our speculation as to the possible fate of typhoon-derived hyperpycnal sediment discharges from western Taiwanese rivers.
