The sensitive and carefully thought out article by Peisah et al. reminds us that we are all mortal and may not complete our journey on this earth with the same mental capacities that we had in our twenties and thirties. Although there is still variation among the State jurisdictions, it would be hoped that common pathways (particularly for identifying and counselling impaired practitioners) will be developed across Australia relatively soon.
