I was once in a tutorial many years ago where our mentor opened up the discussion of how we deal with interactions with patients where there may be uncontrollable, albeit natural, desires towards your patients. Of course, these desires are considered highly unprofessional and highly unacceptable, and justifiably so. But does this mean they don't happen? Does someone who is professional lack his/her natural and often uncontrollable interest in another human being? No. It simply means it's a taboo subject that may happen but should never be admitted or talked about.
