Chalk, Crayon and paper fixed to theproducts: these were the common methodsin the past to mark aluminium coils, when they were marked at all. But the increasedvariety of alloys and dimensionstogether with the raising demands ofquality systems have led to a huge changein marking in modern aluminium mills. Not only have the methods of markingchanged but also the marking as a separateprocess has become an integral partof the production with interfaces to superiorwarehouse management systems.A non-marked coil or coil with a wrongmarking should cause all alarm bells toring at a modern production site.
