Georg Fischer from Altenmarkt, Austria, hasplaced an order with Hertwich Engineeringfor a multi-chamber melting furnace, type HE-Ecomelt-PS70, for melting and holdingaluminium with a production capacity of upto 90 tonnes per day. The furnace operateswith scrap preheating and uses the immersionmelting process, thereby reducing the metalloss to less than 0.5%. It is particularly suitablefor melting ingots and thin-walled revertscrap - even with adhering coolants and lubricantsfrom machining. The furnace is characterizedby high metal yield, low energy consumptionand reduced emissions.
