Application of the SCOR Model in Supply Chain Management

The Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) model was developed by the Supply Chain Council (SCC) as a "standardized reference model" for supply chains. (Note: This book describes the SCC as a nonprofit organization, founded in 1996 by the consulting firm of Pittiglio, Rabin, Todd & McGrath and Advanced Manufacturing Research, and originally consisting of 69 voluntary members. It now has over 1,000 members. Membership is open to all companies and organizations interested in supply-chain management.) The SCOR model is intended to provide uniform (i.e., standardized) definitions, concepts, processes, and metrics to describe (i.e., reference) any supply chain, regardless of its complexity or configuration.
