As consumer groups and some lawmakers are pressuring the poultry industry to take more steps to increase worker safety, a report released Friday (Oct. 27) by the Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) shows that nonfatal occupational injuries and illnesses in the industry remain at an all-time low, poultry industry groups say.
