摘要

Kinetics and mechanisms of the reactions occurring in the slag/steel melt/refractory material system are discussed. Microscopical analysis of the reaction zone in radial direction hasbeen performed. Particularattention is paid to the diffusion fronts for each component of the system and to the changes of the system rnicrostructure in the reaction zone. Refractory materials of various kinds and purities were used during the investigations, e.g. high-alumina, silica-bonded chrome magnesite, tar magnesite and tar dolomite with high and low contents of SiOz.
