Current Measurements and Forecasting for Deep Water Site Investigation

Since 1987, GEOS Limited, and its predecessor, Wimpey Environmental Limited, have been measuring oceanographic parameters West of Shetland on behalf of BP and other operators. This paper, which was first presented at BP's 3rd Atlantic Frontier Metocean Design Seminar in April 1996, presents details of recent developments in measurement and data management capability which have been stimulated by the Atlantic Frontier programme and the close collaboration with BP.
