Characteristics of racing car tires

摘要

This paper describes characteristics of a racing car tire in comparison with passenger-car tire performances from a tire designer's point of view and outlines a history of racing car tires. This paper presents a few important factors in designing a racing car tire and their reasons. Especially a high grip level and a good cornering performance are principal design factors for a racing car tire. Detailed reasons why these factors are important are given.
