An all-electric press that had the trade press all a-buzz at K 2004 made its Stateside debut at Plastec East 2005 when Battenfeld introduced U.S.molders to its Austrian-built EM II line of machines.EM Us will be available in sizes ranging from 33 to 198 U.S.tons(300 to 1800 kN).A 33-tonner was displayed at the show.Much was made at K of that fact that EM II machines use a machine frame built by Germany's Ferromatik Milacron.Michael J.Santa,Battenfeld of America's president and CEO,has coined a word to describe such cooperative competition:coopetition.
