Is there a materials end market more active than medical?Maybe not.At MD&M East in New York Qune 13-15),GE Advanced Materials introduced three new biocompatible PC resins.Lexan HPX8R,HPX4,and HP1HF reportedly offer improved flow and ductility,as well as enhanced resistance to impact and autoclave sterilization.GE's Clare Frissora,market director,health care,says HPX8R and HPX4 actually introduce a new product family for the company.The resins use a new copolymer formulation that offers better flow performance when compared to convention-al PCs-all without the use of additives.This should ease industry concerns about additive migration or the loss of surface additives from cleaning operations.
