New TPV more like rubber

The Thermoplastic Elastomer Div.of Teknor Apex recently introduced Uniprene XL TPV(thermoplastic vulcanizate),a new product based on hydrogenated styrene block copolymer(HSBC)and polypropylene.The new materials are said to feature greater long-term resistance to heat and solvents,higher tensile strength,and better long-term elastic recovery than conventional TPV compounds.While other specialty TPVs can cost dollars more per pound,the company says,Uniprene XL products are priced at only a slight premium over conventional TPVs.
