Application of the switching PID control algorithm to a camera mount system installed on helicopter is examined and the validity of the algorithm is verified through trial products. The merits of this switching PID control algorithm are as follows: 1) Two (or more) kinds of control performance that is difficult to be compatible can be satisfied simultaneously, by using this control algorithm that is intuitive and easy to understand. 2) System tuning is able to be achieved in a short time, because control parameters are adjusted individually for an each situation.
