Engineered from prehardened 416 stainless steel,the new PLX Series date code inserts from Plastixs (Shrewsbury,MA) are designed to run reliably at temperatures up to 350 deg F,as unaffected by the heat as they are by mold release agents.Also,the tolerance precision of the inserts' critical dimensions reportedly ensures that they not only control flashing,but also actually take advantage of flashing to produce a smooth rotation.This keeps the insert functioning for an extended period of time with zero maintenance.
