摘要

The modern generation of machine tools requires all the new materials available in order to improve their important properties such as precision, productivity, service life or price Today the ceramic bearings used in manufacturing units especially in the main spindle bearings, offer a lot of advantages that increase the quality of the machine. Static, dynamic, and thermal behaviours are the most important aspects which undergo strong modifications after using ceramic bearings. This paper describes the important differences regarding thermal behaviour when bearings with ceramic and steel balls are used.
