This past autumn people in my neighborhood were calling one another with the scoop on where to get the cheapest gasoline.They endlessly debated if it was worth driving to the next town to save a nickel a gallon or if they would burn up the savings in the drive.On and off since the fall of 2005,those who remember the gas lines of the mid-1970s,along with odd/even rationing and lowering thermostats to a chilly 65°F,were wondering if we are heading down that path again.
