The results of investigation by electroneuromyography of 100 patients, aged over 70 years, with suspected neuromuscular disorders are described. A positive diagnosis was offered in 59of patients while 36had normal results. The value of current electrophysiological techniques in the diagnosis and management of neuromuscular disorders in the elderly is discussed.
