The FEADER, a new step towards a European forest policy? (Politiques de developpement rural: enjeux, modalites et strategies (Policies for rural development: issues, strategies and methods))

The integration of forests in the territorial pillar of the CAP impacts the French national forest policy. The EU regulation for the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development for 2007-2013 brings new financing rules notably for non-market functions such as biodiversity, landscape protection and public recreation. The new silvo-environment measures, and the support to collective projects, notably through animation, provide new means to implement innovative actions for rural development.
