AbstractRefractive index measurements can be used successfully for on‐line evaluation of extent of reaction in solution polymerization reactors. For this reason, the refractive index of solutions containingtert‐butanol (TBOH), methyl methacrylate (MMA), vinyl acetate (VA), poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), and poly(vinyl acetate) (PVA) were measured and a mathematical correlation was developed to fit the experimental data.
