摘要

A technique for monitoring the energy and the spectrum width of an electron beam in industrial and medical accelerators using Cherenkov radiation in the deceleration system is described. A mathematical model is constructed, and the spectra and the structure of the radiation field in the microwave region are calculated. In mathematical simulation, particular emphasis was placed on the physical aspects playing an important role in practical application of the proposed technique. A layout of the experimental setup and a procedure for reconstructing the energy spectrum are proposed.
