A setup for generation and investigation of cumulative dust jets in a rarefied gas with a pressure of 760-0.1 Torr and in a glow-discharge plasma was developed and manufactured. The jet arises after the impact of a freely falling body (striker) onto the open surface of a loose granular powder placed into a container. Specially shaped strikers that allow obtaining dust jets with nonspherical particles were developed. A frame-by-frame record of the dynamics of development and disintegration of a cumulative dust jet is presented.
