Case history This 11-year-old male was running around in the gym when he tripped and fell onto his right shoulder. He had pain and his parents took him to his regional hospital where radiographs were obtained and were interpreted as normal. He was given medications for his pain but pain persisted and then he and his parents came to our emergency room (ER) for reevaluation. The mom noted that his pain and swelling had decreased but still were present. On physical examination, the patient was in good health. He did have pain over the shoulder toward the end of the clavicle. He had reasonable movement of the right arm but did not want to raise it above his head. Radiographs of both shoulders were obtained (Fig. 1). Do you see a fracture?
