The contributions that neutrons emitted from the neck of excited dumbbell-shaped fissioning ~(235)U nuclei at the instant of their fission make to the prompt fission neutron spectrum, as well as the ratios of these contributions, have been measured for nuclear fission induced by thermal neutrons and fast neutrons of pulsed nuclear reactors.
