A simple device intended for suppressing transient processes in the oscillatory circuit of the nuclear quadrupole resonance spectrometer operating at 0.5-10 MHz is described. The transient process duration is reduced by applying active damping to the circuit immediately after the excitation pulse terminates. The switching time is ≤0.1 μs. At 3.3 MHz, the transient process duration is reduced by a factor of 5.
