摘要

Northern Ireland is undergoing major transformation, not just in its social and political landscape but in the form of a huge investment in major projects. Yet mainland UK firms seem reluctant to bid for work, David Rogers discovers. If anything is symbolic of the change that is sweeping Northern Ireland it is the plans that have been drawn up for the future of the notorious Maze Prison. The complex is synonymous with the struggles that have enveloped the six counties since the modern day troubles began in 1969.
