摘要

A highly efficient scintillation detector developed on the basis of ZnSe(Te) in combination with a silicon photodiode is designed for detectingβ- and low-energyγ-radiation. A conglomerate of small-crystal ZnSe(Te) grains is used as a scintillator. Optimal grain shapes, reflecting coatings, and composition of the dispersed medium are selected by simulating the light collection process. Light-guide shapes for the most efficient light transmission from a large-area scintillator to the photodetector are proposed for the counting and spectrometric measurement modes.
