The Learning Development Working Group was set up in June 2012 by members of the England Woodland Timber Partnership (EWTP) in response to feedback from the forestry sector in England. The working group currently consists of 16 members drawn fromthe private and public forestry sector, reflecting the range of stakeholders with an interest in learning and development. Working in partnership has been key to the group's success. The group's main aim is to ensure that the forestry workforce has a level of professionalism it needs, now and in the future, to maximise forestry's benefits to the economy, nature and society. It is intending to achieve this by working on topics, including all educational levels and aspects of careers and careers development across the timber supply chain.
