A Preparation of Potassium Tris(1,2,4-Triazol-1-yl)hydroborate and of Some Metal Derivatives

Several thermally stable ML2and CIM'L compounds (M = Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd; M#x2032; = Hg, Pb, VO) were obtained from the corresponding halide and potassium hydrotris(1, 2, 4-triazol-1-yl)borate, KL. While monomeric L2Zn and LPbCI are soluble in dimethyl suiphoxide, the others are insoluble coordination polymers where the ligand L#x2212;is exopolydentate as in the metal derivatives of a related neutral ligand, tris(1, 2, 4-triazol-1-yl)methane.
