AbstractInfection of feeder roots ofPinus echinataby the ectomycorrhizal fungus,Pisolithus tinctorius, resulted in an approximate 40‐fold increase in the level of 3‐carene, and Ccnococcum graniformeinduced an approximate 30‐fold increase in β‐phellandrene.
