A #x3A0;-Adduct of Chromocene: (#x3B7;5-C5H5)2Cr(#x3B7;2-C4F6)

Chromocene and hexafluorobut-2-yne react in hydrocarbon solvents at temperatures below -30#xAE; to give a green, diamagnetic -complex, (#x3B7;5-C5H5)2Cr(#x3B7;2-C4F6). At higher temperatures a purple paramagnetic complex, of empirical formula CrC14H10F6, is formed.
