A consortium of U.S. information technology industry associations late last month faulted China for perpetuating policies linking indigenous innovation and government procurement and also highlighted a number of new areas where Chinese policies could potentially undermine its World Trade Organization commitments. The U.S. Information Technology Office (USITO) did so in comments filed to the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative on China's compliance with WTO rules. Those comments will be used to help USTR craft an annual report on this topic.
