The use of electronic control systems today makes it possible to provide operational aids for the user and, under certain circumstances, to also compensate for safety deficits. Of course, such control systems should not be a replacement for applying the results of research work in the field of "conventional mechanical engineering" but should only be a supplement thereto. The Linde 351, H20-H35, model series with more than 100,000 forklift trucks already built has demonstrated that requirements for safety and quick turnaround can certainly be met in a straightforward, simple and safe manner.
