U.S. Delegation Visits Taipei, Discusses Possible Restart To TIFA Talks

A delegation led by the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative visited Taiwan last week to discuss a range of trade issues, including a possible restart of long-stalled talks under the Trade and Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA). According to an Oct. 26 press release from the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT), a delegation of experts - from USTR, the Departments of Commerce, Agriculture, and State, as well as AIT Washington - visited Taipei for meetings with Taiwanese authorities "to discuss a full range of trade issues of importance to both sides."
