This year, the U.S. Export-Import Bank has dramatically ramped up its financing of U.S. exports to China, in part to support U.S. airplane maker Boeing as it competes with its European rival Airbus for the fast-growing Chinese aircraft market, according to the bank's chairman. Ex-Im's financing for U.S. exports to China has already hit $1.2 billion so far this fiscal year, nearly doubling the $586 million it provided in FY 2011. Roughly half of this year's increase is due to aircraft sales, Ex-Im Chairman Fred Hochberg said in a Sept. 18 interview with Inside US-China Trade.
