Avacta expands detection capabilities into gas phase

Avacta Group pic (York,England),a four-year old spin-out from the University of Leeds concentrating on the development of bio-analytical detection and analysis technologies,has acquired Oxford Medical Diagnostics Ltd (OMD;Yarnton,England),an expert of laser-based gas analysis devices,for pound3 million (5.7 million at pound0.53=1) in cash and the issue of shares at different prices.In addition,key personnel at OMD are part-taking in an incentive scheme worth up to pound1.9 million,depending on certain operational and commercial milestones over a period of four years.
