U.S. Signals It Wants China To Slow Implementation Of Draft Insurance Regs

At the World Trade Organization last week, the U.S. signaled that it wants Beijing to delay or suspend draft regulations that would require insurance companies operating in China to use information and communication technology (ICT) products that have been deemed "secure and controllable." At a June 2 meeting of the World Trade Organization's Committee on Trade-Related Investment Measures, the U.S. submitted questions to China asking it to confirm it is not planning to implement the draft regulations quickly.
