Another House Dem Freshman Joins Growing Chorus Of TPA Critics

Rep. Norma Torres (D-CA) last week became the 12th out of the 15 voting Democratic freshmen to sign onto a letter expressing strong skepticism about TPA legislation, also known as "fast track." Torres joined fellow freshman Reps. Seth Moulton (D-MA) and Pete Aguilar (D-CA) in a Jan. 27 letter to President Obama and U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman that criticized the 2002 TPA bill and the one introduced in the last Congress, and also expressed unease over the Trans-Pacific Partnership. The letter is identical to the one Moulton and Aguilar sent to the president and Froman on Jan. 20.
