Polygalacturonase mRNA of Tomato: Size and Content in Ripe Fruits

In ripe tomato fruits, polygalacturonase (PG) mRNA comprised about 1of the translatable RNAs in the poly(A)(+)RNA fraction. Sucrose density gradient centrifugation showed that this PG mRNA is similar in size to 18SrRNA, which suggests the presence of a non-coding region.
