Increased UK IP crime funding

The UK Government has announced that it is providing pound 5m in funding this year and almost pound 8m next year to tackle intellectual property crime.The announcement was made in January by Lord Triesman,Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for IP and Quality,at the launch of the Intellectual Property Crime Report 2007.The funding increase accompanies the recent extension of Trading Standards powers to tackle copyright,counterfeiting and piracy.
