Around 15,000 suspected internet pirates may soon receive letters demanding compensation for illegal downloading activity. ACS:Law, a specialist IP law firm, says it will send the letters in the coming year, asking for an average of ￡300-500 from file-sharers per infringement. The firm recently obtained two High Court orders that require ISPs to hand over the names and addresses of the account holders for 30,000 IP addresses linked to copyright infringement.
