摘要

Following a trip to China, Rep. Charles Boustany (R-LA) said March 25 that Beijing appears willing to make further concessions in the plurilateral talks to expand the Information Technology Agreement (ITA) but first wants to ensure the United States will be more flexible in its position through bilateral negotiations. "They want more direct talks with the United States on ITA," Boustany said in an interview with Inside U.S. Trade. "They don't like the pressure being exerted collectively by the EU and Japan and us. They feel that a U.S.-China agreement should drive the process."
