摘要

India's ambassador to the United States this week welcomed the Obama administration's release last week of a new U.S. model bilateral investment treaty (BIT) following a three-year long review, and said a potential U.S.-India BIT would be a positive step towards greater bilateral economic ties. "We're glad that this development has taken place, that this model BIT issue has been sorted out," Indian Ambassador Nirupama Rao said in an April 25 interview with Inside U.S. Trade after speaking at a reception on Capitol Hill organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
