Some di- and triorganotin(IV) derivatives of the type R4-nSnR#x2032;-NHC(0)CH=CHCOOnWhere R = Me, n-Bu; R#x2032; = C6H5p-ClC6H4. have been synthesized by the reactions of di- and triorganotin(IV) chlorides with the sodium salts of maleanilic acids (prepared iri situ by the reaction of sodium isopropoxide with the corresponding maleanilic acid) in 1:2 and 1:1 molar ratios, respectively. Alternatively, dephenyltin(IV) and triphenyltin(IV) derivatives of maleanilic acids have also been synthesized by the reactions of maleanilic acids with diphenyltin(IV) oxide and triphenyltin(IV) hydroxide in 2:1 and 1:1 molar ratios, respectively. These newly synthesized compounds have been characterized by elemental analyses, melting points as well as spectral (IR and NMR) studies.
