Using aqueous GaCl3and chloride containing Ga(ClO4)3solutions measurements have been carried out to investigate the formation of complexes with mixed ligands beside the GaCl4−ion. In contrast to the Raman spectra, which contain only the signals of the GaCl4− and the Ga(H2O)63+ion, the71Ga-NMR spectra give clear evidence for the existence of complexes with mixed ligands. Investigations at low temperatures showed their coordination to be octahedral resulting in species GaCln(H2O)6−n(
