China's subsidies for a handful of agricultural commodities were a new target of criticism in the latest annual U.S. government report on foreign trade barriers, but the document otherwise identified few new Chinese trade barriers and mainly rehashed a longstanding list of complaints. In its National Trade Estimate (NTE) report - publicly released on April 1 - the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative said it had grown "increasingly concerned about the effects of domestic support measures that China has been pushing for cotton, pork, wheat, corn and rice" in 2014.
