UK Government rejects calls to lobby Brussels for extended music copyright term

The UK refuses to back copyright owners' pleas for extended duration of copyright in sound recordings.While Paul McCartney,Robbie Williams,Roger Daltrey and Cliff Richard may have disparate musical influences,they have been united in a bid to convince the UK Government to advocate extending the duration of copyright in their (and others') sound recordings.On 24 July 2007 the UK Government finally rejected these requests.
