Distal humerus lateral condyle mass fracture and olecranon fracture in a 4-year-old female--review of literature.

We read with interest the article by Pace et al.5 in the September 2005 issue entitled 'Distal humerus lateral condyle mass fracture and olecranon fracture in a 4-year-old female-review of literature'. This combination is certainly rare, although, the authors wrongly commented in the summary and discussion sections that a thorough literature search has revealed no similar reported case. We could find at least six similar injury combination in the previously published literature. Concomitant lateral condyle mass (LCM)-olecranon fractures were documented previously in 1 of 26 by Gicquel et al.,4 in 4 of 63 by Caterini et al.1 and in 1 of 35 by Gaddy et al.3 All these important references were not mentioned in this case report, although, no further details were given in these papers on these combination injuries.
